After being known as Cardinal Center for 28 years, we have changed our name to Cardinal Services. “The official name is Cardinal Services, Inc. of Indiana,” says CEO Jane Greene, “but for most purposes Cardinal Services, Inc. will be used.”

The reason for the new name is due to changes in the organization itself and the way our services are provided to consumers. At one time, nearly all programs were based at the center on North Bay Drive in Warsaw. However, over time the delivery of services have become more community–based to meet the needs of those served.

“Of course we still have day programs at the center, but Cardinal has not been ‘center-based’ for a very long time,” says Greene. “Our staff members work in countless different locations across a four-county area connecting people with resources and providing employment support, residential support, transportation, translation service, family and children services and helping people achieve their personal goals.”

Webster’s Dictionary defines service as “work done for others; assistance; organization whose members work for the public”, while center is defined as “a middle point, around which things form”.... Read More

ARC is an association of local, community organizations committed to providing supports and services to individuals with disabilities. Be careful out on the streets this weekend - it's Tootsie Roll weekend!

Each year the Knights of Columbus in Warsaw organize the annual Toostie Roll Fund Drive benefiting Cardinal Center and Special Olympics. This year's event is this Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th.

Starting Friday morning, more than 150 volunteers will don their trademark yellow vests and hit the streets to raise money for programs serving people with developmental disabilities.

Over the past 10 years, the effort has raised more than $185,000 for Cardinal Center programs.

This year, the Knights expect to hand out more than 27,000 Tootsie Rolls in exchange for small donations.

So, be generous when you see those volunteers this weekend - in just two days your spare change and stray dollar bills will grow to do great things!... Read More
