Day Services

"99% of Daily Work & Vocational Goals Met in 2010"

Day Services is made up of two programs: adult classrooms and work settings.

The classrooms allow consumers to spend the day with friends, people at a similar level of ability, in a classroom setting.  Activities are planned and staffed by trained Direct Support Professionals in 15-30 minute increments and are coordinated to create a meaningful day for every person.

For those with the desire and ability to work, we provide the opportunity for individuals to earn an income doing piece or assembly work for one of our local partner companies.  In this way, they earn a wage to purchase services and items of interest.  Until each person has the opportunity to find a job in the community, they are given the chance to work in the manufacturing area at Cardinal Services, known as CCI.

OTHER SERVICES YOU MAY FIND OF INTEREST

Respite Services

Having a relative with a disability living at home is a fulfilling experience. Yet, at times it can also be extremely hard to do this without help. Cardinal’s Respite Services helps families meet this challenge by providing a qualified, well-trained Direct Support Professional to stay with their family member, assuring they are safe and well cared for.  This allows people time to run errands, have lunch with a friend, or perhaps just take a relaxing walk or be off by themselves.

Respite can be provided in the family home, as long as the caretakers are not present. Respite can also be provided out in the community during this time. There are some restrictions on what the caretaker can do while this service is being provided so please make sure to ask.

Behavior Management Services

Cardinal maintains a Certified Behavior Management Specialist on staff. This professional helps families and persons served work together to address specific behavioral needs. These services are available to all residents involved in Cardinal’s programs, as well as for families and their loved ones living in the community that may not be affiliated with Cardinal’s programs.
