Career Links - Community Employment Services
Cardinal Center's Career Links assists people with disabilities to achieve and maintain employment and independence.  Career Links' unique program works in partnership with the community and with business to develop employment opportunities for people with disabilities.  Once a job is obtained, a trained Career Links Employment Specialist provides support to both the employer and the new employee.  There is no cost to the employee or the employer.  Support may include facilitation of initial training or helping the employer make reasonable accommodations that will allow the person to work.

Career Links is currently serving Kosciusko, Elkhart, Cass, and Fulton counties.
47 employers are currently partnering with Career Links to hire people with disabilities.  For students with disabilities moving from high school to work, Career Links collaborates with schools in providing Transition Services.

"We realized that we were giving dollars away by not reusing "in-process" packaging materials.  With the help of Cardinal Center's Career Links, we found a perfect fit.  We utilize the skills of our new employees to categorize packaging materials so they can be reused.  In many cases, this alleviates the need to purchase new materials.  This is a win-win for Donnelley and the Career Links customer working here."

Adult Work Services
A variety of services are available for adults who want to be more involved in their communities. A variety of funding sources make it possible for people living in family homes, agency-sponsored group homes, or nursing facilities to receive supports provided by Cardinal Center. Persons served are encouraged to explore their communities by volunteering, becoming active in clubs, taking craft or adult education classes, or utilizing the facilities at a local YMCA or sports facility. People are encouraged to dream and then pursue the dream . . . no matter how large or small.

Work Services provides the opportunity for individuals to earn an income so that they can purchase services and items of interest.  Until each person has the opportunity to find a job in the community, they are given the chance to work in the manufacturing area at Cardinal Center.  Each person is paid and no day is more anticipated than payday.
