It's Tootsie Roll Drive Weekend
Be careful out on the streets this weekend - it's Tootsie Roll weekend!
Each year the Knights of Columbus in Warsaw organize the annual Toostie Roll Fund Drive benefiting Cardinal Center and Special Olympics. This year's event is this Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th.
Starting Friday morning, more than 150 volunteers will don their trademark yellow vests and hit the streets to raise money for programs serving people with developmental disabilities.
Over the past 10 years, the effort has raised more than $185,000 for Cardinal Center programs.
This year, the Knights expect to hand out more than 27,000 Tootsie Rolls in exchange for small donations.
So, be generous when you see those volunteers this weekend - in just two days your spare change and stray dollar bills will grow to do great things!
