OASIS Forums Announced

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) is making a major change, beginning July 1, 2008, in how Medicaid waiver services are funded and offered to consumers. The change applies to the Developmental Disabilities, Autism and Support Services waivers only. The change does not apply to the Aged and Disabled or Traumatic Brain Injury waivers.

The change in how Medicaid wavier services are funded is called, "OASIS," and stands for Objective Assessment System for Individual Supports.

How will OASIS impact Medicaid waiver consumers and their families? It is possible that the assessment will determine that your budget for services should increase. It is also possible that the assessment will determine that your budget for services should decrease.

Public informational forums will be held throughout the state, March 20 – April 11, 2008, to provide information on the OASIS initiative. Meetings will occur twice on each scheduled date; 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. See below for a complete list of meeting dates and locations.
