Early Head Start

Early Head Start provides comprehensive services for income eligible pregnant women and for families with children ages birth to three. At least 10% of the enrollment opportunities are given to children with a disability.

There are three options available in Early Head Start: Services are provided for eight children in a licensed childcare center in Warsaw.

A home-based program is provided for children and families. An early childhood professional visits the home weekly and addresses topics such as child development, nutrition, and health. The home-based teacher also assists the family in accessing community resources to encourage families to set and meet personal goals and achieve self-sufficiency.

A registered nurse provides services for pregnant women. Weekly home visits are used to provide instruction in basic prenatal care, and what to expect during the pregnancy and after the baby is born. Families are also encouraged to access community services as needed.
